A Study on Identifying Priority Management Areas and Implementing Best Management Practice for Effective Management of Nonpoint Source Pollution in a Rural Watershed, Korea

چکیده
It is difficult to accurately identify and manage the paths of nonpoint source (NPS) pollution in rural watersheds because their discharge patterns vary depending on season, region, agricultural characteristics. In this study, flow water quality during rainfall events were monitored Songya watershed, an impaired, area South Korea. A method identifying priority management areas was proposed through scientific objectification quantification key factors controlling NPS, such as land use, type, load. For load calculation, a watershed model developed using Hydrological Simulation Program Fortran (HSPF). Three areas—Mulhan Stream, Osan upstream Stream—were selected. Using model, constructed wetlands with capacity 1000 m3 applied at lower reach each subbasin impacts NPS reduction tested. The simulated results showed that BOD TP concentrations outlet lowered by 9.2% 6.0%, respectively. expected study for implementing best practice can be similar which struggled pollution.
